Saturday, 10/9 Overview

On Saturday 10/9:

Goal of meeting-
The goal was to program the Nerve Mapping, Object Control through thought, Professional Teamwork, rapid blood screening, and mechanical arm & patent missions, and agree on a general design/driving chassis and a logo.

Robot Design-
When deciding the design, we voted between Andrew's robot, my (Daniel's) robot, and Ben's robot. Ben's robot had two motors in the back, each with two wheels, and oriented backward, with four decorative claws on it to give a cool look. Andrew's and mine (Daniel's) were based on the ShooterBot, a model whose instructions came with the normal #8547 2.0 NXT kit. Because Andrew's and mine (Daniel's) were the same, we treated them as one design. When the vote came out, 4 out of 6 voted for the ShooterBot base design.

Work:
When working on robot design building and performance, we were split up into teams. Ben and and Shane were working on the Mechanical Arm & Patent, Alex and me (Daniel) were working on delivering the white blood cells, and delivering the doctor and the biomedical engineer to the patient area, and doing the Nerve Mapping and Object Control through thought missions. Ginger and Andrew were building the robot using instructions Andrew brought.

Robot Performance:
Shane and Ben managed to get the robot to activate the arm. This raised the overall morale of the team, and showed we are capable of doing this. Due to unnecessary steps, and the fact that there was a lot of things in the multitasking mission, Alex and Daniel did not complete programming.

Logo: After a teambuilding activity, we voted on the logos. It came to a 50-50: Shane's logo vs Daniel's logo. There will be a final vote on Tuesday.

-UPDATE- 10/20/10
-The final vote came to Daniel's logo.

This is Daniel Isaac, signing out.
