In our efforts to prepare for the FLL food safety challenge, the Gear Meisters visited a Hydroponics farm. Before the visit, I had no idea what a hydroponics farm was? Well, hydroponics is a method of growing plants using mineral nutrient solutions, in water, without soil. The farmer kept her plants in a huge green house with an a natural air conditioner. The plants were placed in a large tub full of water with a cover with holes in it so the top of the plant can get sunlight. It was facsinating to learn the process of hydroponics.
